Insect pests can sometimes be very persistent. We will be very thorough in our treatments, but sometimes, nature wins out. If you have our Pest 360 service or another ongoing treatment plan, just give us a call. All of our other pest services are guaranteed for thirty days.
Termite treatments typically take a day or less.
All professional pest control products have been registered for use by the EPA. When they are applied according to label instructions by technicians who have been trained and licensed to use them, they pose virtually no risk.
Treatments vary depending on: the construction of your home, severity of the infestation, and the type of treatment recommended. We will provide you with a free estimate.
Termites are nearly impossible for homeowners to treat on their own; however, our professionals have the training, expertise and technology to eliminate termite infestations.
The most important thing is to remove the environment termites need to survive. Termites love moisture-avoid moisture accumulation around the foundation of your home. Divert water away with properly functioning downspouts, gutters and splash blocks. Be sure your crawl space is properly ventilated. Prevent shrubs and other vegetation from growing over and covering vents. Most importantly, eliminate any wood contact with the soil.
There are two types of homes: those that have had termites and those that will get them. Termites work 24 hours/7 days a week at damaging the wood in and around a structure. And, while they cause billions of dollars in damage each year, they can be controlled if the proper techniques are used.
Termite swarms typically are visible in the early spring. Termite swarms can be confused with flying ants. Telltale signs of termite infestation include soft wood in the home, mud tubes in the interior or exterior of your home, and darkening or blistering of wood surfaces.
Termites are wood-destroying insects that are actually an important part of our ecosystem (when not attacking our homes!). While they play an important role in nature, experts estimate they cause $5-6 billion of property damage each year.
Avoid insect bombs. They can pose two significant dangers in your home. First, they leave a residual of insecticide over your entire home. Even after a thorough cleaning, most people would be surprised by what is left behind for children and pets to come into contact with. Secondly, all pilot lights and even electrical appliances should be turned off, or you risk having a literal “bomb” in your home. A targeted application by a trained professional is much safer and more effective.
Spiders do have long legs that elevate their body away from hard surfaces, and they do not follow grooming habits like roaches and ants do so it can be difficult to get them in contact with control products. However, our technicians can and do employ other tactics that will aid in the control of spiders.
Having a clean house will not eradicate roaches entering your home since they are looking for food, shelter and water to survive. Roaches are persistent and require an ongoing treatment program to control.
We have bugs in our house. Can I get something to spray that is “child friendly” but will get rid of the bugs?
Sometimes a pest problem can be eliminated simply by taking away their food source or repairing holes that are used as entry points. If insecticides must be used it is important to choose the friendliest material and use the product in compliance with the product label. Our professionals know the characteristics of the insects that we are trying to control in order to know where to apply the materials.
I have roaches in my home and have tried sprays and bug bombs and these don’t seem to be working. What else can I do?
Cockroaches can be very difficult to control as so many things can contribute to their survival such as food, water and shelter. Aerosol bombs are not very effective in controlling cockroaches; however, proper use of insecticides is the key to success.
Homeowners must remain active participants before, during and after all pest control treatments. This type of cooperation helps you see better results. Lawn & Pest Solutions guarantees all treatments for thirty days.
